REPORT CARDS: After examining you child’s report card on Thursday, please sign the card and promptly return it to your child’s teacher.
SUPER BEAR: Second grade parents should expect this little guy with his diary to come home one night. The 2nd graders are writing BEAR’S experience as a guest in your home. You will be impressed with the children’s writings in the diary. Also, these students have proudly mastered regrouping with double digit subtraction. In English, they are now recognizing and using adverbs in sentences. Congratulations!
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: Ask your child if he/ she can now recite The Ten Commandments and The Seven Corporal Works of Mercy from memory. The Commandments are the foundation of forming our conscience, The Judeo-Christian sense of right and wrong. The student body has memorized these tenets of our faith, and recites them each morning. Each morning, additional instruction on doctrine will continue to be presented to our students with tenets to be committed to memory. These basic truths will carry them throughout their lives.

LENT AND OUR CHRISTIAN FAITH
Please don’t forget to worship this weekend and every weekend as a family. Faith formation and values formation, as you know, begin in the home.
During this Lenten time of personal reflection, and of building our personal relationship with the Lord, let us take time to reassess what we value as reflected in our relationships, lifestyles and commitments. In the name of inclusiveness and acceptance, our society has gradually slipped into deviant moral practices that are out of keeping with our God-given nature. As individuals, it is so easy to get swept into the group mentality. We call it tolerance and then permit our laws to uphold practices and relationships that will ultimately harm individuals and undermine the well-being of our society.
As individuals, we do make a difference and we can make a difference for better or worse. The future of our children depends on what we do today.
ENJOY THE SPRING-LIKE WEEKEND WEATHER!
