Arachnophilia is web page programming tool and is free. A bit difficult, but will help to generate html tags that can be used in your own code. The download is in Step 2 where it says "acquire the executable". It is a safe download. Always check with parents first.

Open Office is very much like Microsoft Office. In fact, it can save files that are compatible with MS Office. It is an open source application and is put out by Sun Microsystems. Excellent for school work and presentations.

Art Rage is a great painting application. The starter edition which gives 8 painting tools is free and the full edition is $25. We use the starter edition in the computer lab.

trueSpace 3D by Caligari is offering its latest edition free! It is a difficult program, but there are tutorials on the site.

Another free 3D program, Bryce 5.5 is free! This is a bit easier than trueSpace and good for 6, 7 or 8th grades
