The School Day: 8:10 AM - 2:25 PM
Children arriving between 7:20 AM and 7:50 AM will enter the building through Door #1 and proceed directly to the cafeteria, where there will be supervision. They will be dismissed to their homerooms at 7:50 AM. All children arriving between 7:50 AM and 8:10 AM will enter the building by Door #1and go directly to their classrooms.
Late Arrivals to School:
Tardiness is discouraged because it can be disruptive to the class. Any students arriving after 8:10 AM must enter through the front doors and report to the Business Office to be signed in by their driver and receive a late pass. No student arriving late will be admitted to class without an adult signature. After 5 late arrivals, both driver and student must meet with the Principal before the child is admitted to class.
No one is to drive into the school yard at any time during the school day. Please park on the street behind the school and walk around to the front door.
Absence from School:
On the morning of the student's absence, a parent must notify the school (942-8954) between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Requests for homework, for long term absences only, must be made at that time or the request will not be honored.
Early Dismissals:
Early dismissals are not encouraged, as they too are disruptive to classroom routines. However, any unavoidable exceptions to this may be arranged. The Business Office must be notified in writing or by phone of the need to request an early dismissal prior to the parent's arrival.
Dismissal:
Daily dismissal is signaled by a series of bells.
- Pre-k children and their siblings will be dismissed at the 2:20 PM bell via Door #4, between the school and the church.
- All other children riding home in cars will be dismissed at the 2:25 PM bell via Door #1 into the school yard.
No child will be permitted to cross any street or leave the sight of the teachers unless accompanied by his or her driver.
School bus parking is reserved for busses only along side the curbing behind the church and school. Private cars are not permitted to park behind the school or church at the curbing before 2:40 PM.
Parking in front of the rectory garage is prohibited.
NO ONE WAITING FOR A CHILD TO BE DISMISSED IS PERMITTED TO SMOKE ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS.
